  1. I dont know about being ‘vunerable’ but what i do know is all these cuts are designed not just to save money but to ensure good practice in social work and prioritise cases more effectively. No social worker is going to leave a child at risk of phsyical, sexual or severe neglect but maybe they will not get involved as much on the emotional harm. Which is a good thing as emotional harm can span out into all different areas, areas where children do not warrant being taken into care and costing the state and public in effect thousands.

    • This is absolutely correct, in the ideal world. Unfortunately due to tragic incidents over the past few years, there have been unethical practices exposed. Social Workers have had an increased workload to compensate the negligence highlighted on such isolated cases. Due to this influx there is naturally a strain on resources. Everyone has felt the pinch as a result. Society only remembers the mistakes and wrong doings, while those left picking up the pieces remain un noticed and unacknowledged for the hard work and dedication they committ to children and families alike.
